jacob danziger is a composer and violinist from michigan and new york city, where he received a BA in music from columbia university. he is currently working towards an MFA in electronic music at mills college in oakland, ca., where he is focusing on an ongoing body of solo works for violin and max/msp. he is a member of flashpapr, tiny lights, city cricket, tornado family, the every nights, and wow city shockers, and is a frequent contributor to saturday looks good to me and his name is alive. he has also performed or recorded with fred thomas, the trouble with sweeney, doveman, cynthia nelson, and the naysayer, and has improvised with tatsuya nakatani, exias-j, jessica pavone, matt bauder, and aaron siegel, among others. current improvisation-based projects include duos with aram shelton and zach wallace, and a "live sound for silent films" collective including steve roden, jeffrey roden, kraig grady and loren chasse. recent collaborations with steve roden have resulted in two sound installations by steve roden, "day ring" at the henry art gallery in seattle, and "dark over light earth" at the MOCA in los angeles.
